Nice rod, but....

Nice Ugly stick, but not the one in the picture, was sent a pistol grip rod. This was not what I ordered, so beware! Amazon refunded 15%, so I kept the rod.

Great Rod

I have several different setups for freshwater fishing, and all of them now include an Ugly Stick. These really are great rods, especially for the money. You can pay 200 dollars for a St. Croix, and they are fantastic pieces of equipment, but you'll be sad when it breaks. The Ugly Sticks are lightweight, sensitive, and sturdy. Plus they make enough different styles that you can use them for any type of fishing you'd like. Unless you make money fishing, this is going to be your rod.PROS-LightweightSturdySensitiveHandles have a comfortable gripLarge selection of stylesCONS-It does not come with a guarantee that you will catch fish. Although, it probably could.

I was fooled

I didn't realize that after the reel the bottom of the pole was only about 2 inches. There is no place to hold on if you ever get a decent. You couldn't tell this from the picture. When I got it home I said where is the rest of the rod?
