This rod paired up with my Abu Garcia casting reel are the ideal combo for the surf along the Delaware coast.....

I was ready to return this when I found out that it's not 100% graphite and that it has some composite material in it; thus, the overall added thickness to the rod compared to other full graphite rods.But... after I set up my reel with some 50lb braid test and 100lb mono leader and used an OTB (off the bottom) cast, it when at least 100 yards. Basically pass the surf where you want your rid to land.I live next to the Chesapeake Bay and believe me, you want to go with an 11 ft rod when surf fishing. Just the perfect size to cast and make sure your line is over the break.
