This fly rod performed ok but it a bit on the heavy side. I'd rate it a "meat stick". If I had the money I would spend more and get the same line weight rod but one that is a lot lighter. Probably a fair value for the price but you could do better for twice the price or more... which I should have done.

Best rod for under $700.00 !!It's responsive, powerful and is a joy to fish.haven't ripped into a big trout (yet) but I'm confident it will land a 25"+ with zero fuss.Love Fenwick rods !!!
