Great rod

I ordered this rod to live bait for for Stripers. This is what they were made to do and are perfect with a 5500 Garcia up to a 20 size linecounter trolling reel. These rods are also very good for catfishing ,and also trolling with cranks for Crappies,bass,and stripers. I have the 7 ft med light and my dad has the 7.5 ft both are great. The hook holder is nice but my favorite feature is the short but and long foregrip, if you fish with rod holders then this is must so you don't have a long rod butt sticking out while they are in the holders. The amazon shipping has delivered every rod unbroken and the best price on the net.

Quantum smoke 7'6" medium

i just received this product today and I must say it is very impressive! being only 14 this is a big investment and I plan on buying a smoke 150 7.3:1 reel. the rod is incredibly light and will be perfect for tournaments this summer. HIGHLY RECOMENDED I cant wait to get onto the water with it.

Fenwick HMG Spinning Rod - 6' ML-MF

I purchased this rod specifically for Walleye fishing, it has a great feel and is well balanced with my reel. The sensitivity is superb and it has enough backbone to fight the big ones. I couldn't be happier with this rod. I am actually awaiting delivery of two more 6'6" HMG spinning rods. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants a great rod at a great price!

Great Backbone!

This is my first Fenwick rod and I'm really happy, I love the spline it is really stiff. Have not fished with yet but I'm impressed with the product so far, the guides are Fuji so I'm sure that pairing braid with this rod and a descent (penn spinning) reel that I will have a great silver salmon setup.

I surf fish Murtle Beach every year. My fishing partner has used the 13ft diawa surfcast rod for the past 4yrs. When I needed a new rod I found a 15ft rod like his for less than $90 bucks!!! What a deal!!! Free shipping. I am 6'5" and weigh 350lbs. I was able to cast well over 100yds with ease. I caught 2 stingrays over 60lbs with 50lb test braid, the rod handled them, as well as many other types of fish from 6oz spots to 4lb flounder and 2 to 5lb bluefish with INCREDABLE ease. I would recomend this rod to any fisherman who wants to be serious about showing out on the beach!!! I am a professional aquarist. GREAT ROD!!! GREAT DEAL & SERVISE!!!

Great cheap channel catfish rod

I got the 8' spinning rod on sale at a local store.I didn't expect much for the price.Since then, it has become one of my favorite catfish rods, a close secondbehind my VERY expensive custom built steelhead rod (which I might not havebeen able to justify buying if I'd had this one first).It is pure fiberglass, making it effectively indestructible.The eyes are strong and well attached, and the handle isperfectly acceptable on a fiberglass rod (you don't need corklike you do on a graphite rod).I was VERY pleasantly surprised at the flexibility.It is strong enough to handle 25lb channel cats in heavy current,yet it is flexible enough to allow for subtle bite detection, and givesyou decent bend even with just a 3lb channel cat on the line.Many other fiberglass cat rods I've tried are just TOO stiff unlessyou have a 25lb cat on the line. I guess if you're fishing for100lb flathead or blue cats, then this rod *might* be too light...I've had my 8' Wildcat spinning rod for 3 years. We've caught at least 75channel cats on it, most of them between 10 and 30lbs (30"-38")AND a bunchof 35"-42" northern pike on it. It's still working and looking great. If Iever DO manage to damage it somehow, I would go out and buy another.IMHO: The 8' spinning Wildcat is a great balance of strengthand flexibility for channel cats between 5 and 30lbs in medium to heavy current. I guess a 9' steelhead rod could 'beat' it on a strictly'fishing' scale, but certainly not on a durability, price, and ease ofuse scale.

spent a lot time doing my homework on surf rods, it came down to st.croix and lamiglas,Lamiglas has an excellent website,which had all the information i needed to carefully choose which rod i wanted.The surf rod was delivered in perfect condition,took it to the beach that day......."IT CAST LIKE A DREAM"

Very disappointing

This rod is made in china, It says so on the butt cap. The best distance cast I could get with this rod was about, and I'm being very generous here, 80 yards. I was using both a penn 535 reel and a shimano Trinida 16 DC with 20lbs test line and 3 to 4 oz of weight. I made about 30 very frustrating casts using each reel always with the same result, short distance and a bird's nest in the reel. I own a 9 foot lamiglas steelhead rod and an 8 foot shimano rod, both will easily out distance the surfking by about twice using about half the weight and I never get bird's nests, matter of fact, quite a few boat rods using the trinida will out cast the surf king. The worst part? I actually hooked up on a fish....a 10 -12 lb guitar fish, I didn't know until I decided to call it quits for the day and reel the line in for the last time, I still didn't know until the guitar fish was in about a foot of water and I happened to notice it swimming back and forth. I give it one star because the finnish on the rod is very nice.
