The advancement of cutting edge, ultra-lightweight technology is built into the core of the Villain rod. By using our unique low resin content graphite, the Villain takes on a jaw dropping balanced and lightweight feel.
The combination of the C6 total exposure reel seat and 40 Ton graphite, provide optimum sensitivity by allowing vibrations to be transmitted directly to the angler.

I bought the villain rod 2 months ago and paired it with the new revo3 PRM reel and I have'nt cought any big fish on it yet but the feel of it will amaze you,its so light,sentive,and cast a mile, I fish all year round so I hear know its a matter of time b/f I hook in too one that will peel some line off and I have a good feeling that it will handle whatever is on the hook! happy fishing ....!!!!

this gets 5 stars from me. i brought this rod because it was on 30 bucks and i though it would match up good with the abu garcia black max2 i also brought and it is a great rod. before i brought it i didnt know that berkley made rods but now i love this rod and i reccomend it to anyone and i even got 3 more

For the price this rod cannot be beat. It is light and strong. I have used it for the past year with no problems.It is not very sensitive though. It takes a good hit for you to notice that you've gotten a bite.

Very helpful

I am just getting into fly fishing and I thought this would be helpful for practicing my casting. It helped a lot and I was ready to go when I got in the water. Although it is short, it still mimics a real rod pretty well. I recommend it for beginners, children, or anyone who wants to improve their technique.

Over Priced

If you have a large, empty room, say a basement or garage, in your house you will be able to practice with this indoors. My house is not very big and I worried too much about knocking something off a shelf or getting the line hung in ceiling fan so I ended up outdoors with it which basically defeated the purpose for which I bought it. I can use my fly rod if I'm outdoors. I'm a novice fly fisher but I've fished with spin tackle all my life and fishing is hands down the best kind of practice. The rod is only 47" long but I can see where this would be very good for demonstration, the "line" is very visible, or for a total beginner to fishing/casting to learn and practice the basics of casting, indoors or out. The heavy cord is forgiving because it really loads the rod and the rod's action is fast, but for what it is, its over priced. You could get a cheap, short, fast spin rod and some cord for 1/4th of this item's price then use what you have saved to buy Joan Wulff's book "Fly Casting Accuracy" which helped my fly cast far more than all other fly fishing learning products I've purchased put together. Good luck!

I am new to Swimbait fishing and realized I needed heavier rods to throw heavy baits. After research(which one and cost), I decided the Okuma was a price-performer. Amazon had the best price I could find.The rod launches a 5 oz. Huddleston with no problem. Good backbone and good tip action for heavy baits. Had to send 2 back (broke in shipment).

Can't beat it with a STIK!

Okuma Swim Bait rods are a great value. In my book just like an Ugly Stik, which are all of my other rods I use for charter customers.From Big Redbass to even Speckled trout, I got these to throw BIG lures, like the Dahlberg Wide-Glide at 5 ounces and 8".High quality components and so far I've owned 4 of these and am very happy.The rods have alot of quality guides and features that rods that cost twice as much have.BIG fish, and BIG baits. Is what these rods are for.

I use this rod for all types of things. I use it for large swimbaits when I am bass fishing, and I use it for smaller musky lures (crankbaits, mini dawgs, jerkbaits,x-raps). It works for anything I throw, and handles anything I catch on it. Great product!
